About FilmDance
Traditional film distribution ends when the theatrical run ends. The theater shows the movie, collects its share of the box office, and moves on. The relationship between the theater and the film is finished.
FilmDance changes that.
We believe independent theaters should be more than temporary exhibitors. When a theater promotes a film to its audience, builds excitement, sells tickets, and creates an event — that effort should continue to pay off.
FilmDance is a distribution platform that turns independent theaters into long-term promotional partners. When theaters screen FilmDance releases, they don't just earn from ticket sales. They also earn commissions from merchandise and live auctions through their unique QR code, and they share in ongoing streaming and commerce revenue through our Theater Participation Pool.
Every transaction processed through FilmDance is tracked, attributed, and reported. Theaters can see exactly what they've earned and why. No guesswork, no unverifiable claims.
Our goal is to build the largest network of independent theaters by giving them a financial incentive to continue promoting movies long after opening weekend.
Our Approach
FilmDance is launching in controlled regional waves. We're building relationships with theaters one market at a time, ensuring every partner gets proper onboarding, support, and access to films that fit their programming.
We intentionally exclude revenue that FilmDance cannot verify or track. If a filmmaker sells merchandise at a convention, that's their revenue. If a film gets a Netflix deal, that's outside our system. We only share revenue that flows through FilmDance — because everything must be auditable.
For Filmmakers
FilmDance helps filmmakers reach independent theaters without building their own distribution infrastructure. We coordinate theater outreach, event screenings, promotional content, merchandise, live commerce, and streaming — while giving theaters a financial reason to keep promoting the project.
